How
to prevent Dry Lips
My number one rule is--drink
plenty of water (recommended not less than three 16 oz.
bottles in a day). This will not only hydrate your Lips but will
do the same for your whole
body.
The other way of preventing dry
lips is by not licking your lips. Lip licking is a bad habit
because excessive licking has been shown to produce dry chapped
lips by reaping lips off
natural oils that naturally moisturize the lips.
People lick their lips for various reasons. Some do lick lips unconsciously
when nervous or
when in an uncomfortable situation--i have a friend who does that.
Then there are others
who lick their lips because they think the saliva will offer some
moisturizing to the lips.
Whatever the reason might be, lip licking is wrong and should be
discouraged.
Lastly, use Lip Balm to
moisturize lips. Lip balms contain emollients. These are waxy
substances that coat the lips locking in moisture and protects
lips from dry air and harsh
weather. A lip Balm containing a SPF will protect lips against
Sunburn. Some Lip Balms
have been enriched with vitamins and essential oils, to nourish
your lips.
